I'm a day late with this one, but it's been a long week. I've been listening to AU band Tangled Shoelaces a ton - I first heard them some time last year - it's crazy that they were only kids when they made such beautiful music. The song on here is called "Oceans Away." Have also been listening a lot to another ocean related song by Beverley Martyn who sadly passed away this week. I've also - yet again - been listening a lot to Insecure Men (mostly their covers album). I was at a bar last week and saw one of the members - cool to see him in the neighborhood. I'm listening to Bauhaus/Tones On Tail adjacent band - Love and Rockets - great to get the mood up! Finally, I was in Tompkins and heard some guys playing ping pong blasting Blaze Foley on their speakers - unlikely speakers music. The guitars on this one remind me slightly of Donovan.

It's been a busy few weeks and I'm really tired, but there's always more music listening. I've been liking Wendy Eisenberg's "Meaning Business." It's really good and feels complex. I've also been listening to Aldous Harding & H. Hawkline's new track a lot - as always, another addictive track by Aldous Harding. I had never heard of French singer, Alain Chamfort, but have been listening to his song Chasseur d'Ivoire. I listened to the whole album, and found it a little too cheesy for me - but I really like this song. It's strange I had never heard of him because he's collaborated with Jacques Dutronc, Serge Gainsbourg, and Claude Francois. I also included a Etran de l'Air song I've been liking - I first heard about them last year, but never delved into their 2022 album. Strangely, I've also really been into this disco-y track by a band called Brooklyn Dreams - the hot New York weather has made it the perfect song for the season. Finally, I'm liking White Fence's new singles and included the newest one here.

On Wednesday, I went to a house show where an artist I really like from Detroit - named Dick Texas - performed. Her album from last year is so good. I've added the first track on here, but listen to the entire thing! I went to the york bar in the East Village and they were playing Tamaryn - I hadn't listened to her in years, but am now back on it. Last week, Konk was playing in the office - I had heard of them, but had never really listened. If you're on YouTube, watch their video for "Konk Party." It makes me want to be in Tompkins - in the summer - in the 1980s. Finally, I've been listening a lot to Gil Scott-Heron's "I'm New Here." It's a song from when he was older - it's really beautiful.

I've been listening to a lot of Kristin Hersh, Throwing Muses, and Belly again. It reminds me of when I was young. I love Kristin Hersh and have been listening to her song "William's Cut" - I never really paid attention to it before. I've also really been liking a cover of Michael Hurley's "Wildegeeses" by Australian artist Field Commmander Ali - her whole new album is really good. I wish I had seen Michael Hurley at Union Pool before he passed away. I've been really obsessed with a song by Westerman called Blue Comanche - his voice is a bit different than stuff I would usually like, but the song is very addictive. Cameron Winter's new song - Warning - is great. So many people I like don't like him, but I do. St. Etienne's "Filthy" has been on my ears a lot - it's one of those songs like Groove Is in the Heart that makes you happy. Finally I heard a song by Goodtime John that I've been enjoying.

It's been a busy two weeks and I'm now feeling slightly sick. I've been listening to Aldous Harding's new song a lot - it's called One Stop. I've loved her last 3 albums and remember listening to Imagining My Man on repeat in 2017 on a freezing cold night in Montreal walking to the bus stop to NY. Her songs are so addictive. Randall Stephens' whole album - The Music I Love Is Gospel (Numero reissue) - is so good - perfect when you want to listen to soulful instrumental music. I hadn't paid attention to this song before, but really like it. Revisited Katy J Pearson listened to her song "Sky" a lot - love it. I was listening to a radio show and heard this smiles song - started singing along and was confused how I knew it. Realized that I liked a cover of this song by Pink Flames back in 2016 - it was somewhere far in my mind, but glad I rediscovered it. Finally, I went to a bar a few weeks ago where they were talking about and listening to Minnie Ripperton. They played a song that samples Rotary Connection by Nuyorican Soul - have been listening to this song a lot.

After a blizzard this past weekend, it felt fitting that I listened a lot to two artists from a cold part of the world. Listening to a lot of Molina & Jenny Hval from Scandinavia. From the opposite side of the world (AU), I'm enjoying a new song by EXEK - he's coming to TV Eye soon. His song is named "Arrivederci Back Pain" - which I relate to haha; though I would like my back pain to arrivederci. Strangely, I had never before in my life listened to Ween - but I've been loving a song of their's called Pollo Asado. If you want to hear another cool song about tacos listen to Beck's "Satan Gave Me A Taco." Are there other good songs about tacos? Finally, I've been dancing to an 80s song by Chris & Cosey.

Hi again. It's been two weeks since I last posted what I was listening to. I was out of the city the past two weekends, and listened to a lot while travelling. The Fire by The Lemon Twigs was on repeat on my long bus ride. I'm loving a song called Hey! Mr. Sky by Jackie O-Motherfucker - I think Weyes Blood sang some vocals for them when she was starting out. I've been revisiting Guillaume Teyssier this week, and I've been obsessively listening to a Jaye Bartell song, Swim Colleen (featuring Angel Olsen). I hadn't listened to Californian band, X, in a while - fun to listen to this song while walking in the morning.

Lately, it's been cold in New York. I've been listening to French band Tentative. New Australian folk artist, Field Commander Ali. Some old Bonnie Prince Billy. I watched The Blank Generation, Amos Poe and Ivan Kral's doc on CBGB. Discovered a CBGB regular - Harry Toledo. Does anyone know where he went?
An old Hawaiian folk band - These Trails. CCFX, which I hadn't listened to since 2017 - but keep on re-hearing in NY cafes and restaurants.
